In this sermon, Pastor Jerry Black illustrates the story of King Hezekiah. (2 Kings 20:1, 5-6). The Bible describes Hezekiah as a king who had a close relationship with God, one who did “what was good and right and faithful before the LORD his God” (2 Chronicles 31:20). However, Hezekiah had become very sick and as instructed by God, the prophet Isaiah told Hezekiah to set his house in order because he was surely going to do. Pastor Black tells the story of how Hezekiah prayed sincerely and earnestly unto God and his prayer and plea caused God to REVERSE HIS DECISION. God has, on occasion, reversed His decision because of the abundance of His love and greatness of His mercy. And sometimes, God reverses His decision when we turn to Him in whole hearted, sincere prayer.
